Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Samoa Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Goran Manevski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samoa Joe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Goran Manevski!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Gregory Folan and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joe shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Manevski's guard.
Joe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Manevski manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Joe manages to get himself to full guard.
Joe wants to stand and escape but Manevski is having none of it.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Joe is on top in guard.
Manevski not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Manevski escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Joe gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Manevski is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Joe drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Joe jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Joe postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Manevski is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Joe, into his guard.

Joe has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Manevski is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Manevski thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Joe has control of Manevski's left arm, preventing Manevski from doing any damage.

Joe wants to control from the top but Manevski keeps moving.
Joe postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Joe drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Manevski dives on top into guard.
Manevski makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Joe is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Manevski is looking to stand up but Joe won't let him.
Joe pulls Manevski in close to prevent any damage.

Joe has his foot on Manevski's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Manevski works his way back into a safe position though.

Joe pulls Manevski in close to his closed guard and prevents Manevski from doing any damage or advancing position.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Joe throws a leg kick but Manevski sees it coming and moves out of range.

Joe gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Manevski to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Joe has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Manevski can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Joe had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Manevski defends it easily.
Manevski forces his way into half guard.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Manevski is thwarting Joe's attempts to control the position.
Manevski thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Joe's head.

Manevski passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Joe!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Joe tries to lock up and control but Manevski gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Joe is trying to escape the mount.
Manevski tries to control but Joe wriggling away.
Joe is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Manevski scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Manevski tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

Goran Manevski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Manevski decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Joe, up you get!
A punch lands to the side of Manevski 's head but he takes it in his stride.

Manevski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Joe clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Joe really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Manevski's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

You can see the frustration on Manevski's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Manevski is looking for a sweep.
Joe in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.

Joe tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Joe has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Well Joe has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
