Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Roy Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chad Shaw (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chad Shaw is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Roy Jones!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Chad Shaw!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jones bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Jones goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Shaw has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jones but great work by Shaw.
Shaw tries to land with some ground and pound but misses.

Shaw decides to stand back up. Shaw steps back and let's Jones get back to his feet.

A frustrated look appears on Shaw's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Jones's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Shaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Shaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jones feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Jones gets to his feet. Shaw looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Jones has Shaw pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jones pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Shaw tumbling to the mat - Jones dives into Shaw's guard.

and Jones counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Shaw is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Jones is just content to waste time from the top position. Shaw takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Shaw is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Jones is controlling him well.

Shaw throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Jones escapes and throws Shaw's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Roy Jones is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
