The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva looks to score with a jab to the body but Rocks is just out of range.
Silva catches Rocks napping and connects with a big right hand that sends Rocks to the canvas!
Rocks is rocked!
It looks like Tom Rocks has been cut.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Rocks can do anything to dispel that myth.
Rocks wants to stand and escape but Silva is having none of it.
Silva passes Rocks's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Rocks tries to get to full guard but Silva has control of the leg.

Rocks really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Silva. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rocks is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Silva lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Silva seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Silva looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Silva wants to control but Rocks is keeping him busy.

Silva winds up and cracks Rocks with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Silva lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Silva slips a nice elbow through Rocks's hands, connecting with Rocks's forehead.
Tom Rocks's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at Tom Rocks's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
