PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Y cage (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hold Steady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think cage might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Don't let me be misunderstood. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Steady avoids a kick to the body.
Steady throws a head kick but cage moves out of range.
cage throws a head kick that misses.
cage keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Steady.
Steady misses with a straight right.
cage misses with a straight left.
cage cracks Steady with a right hand to the side of the head.
cage fails in his attempt to clinch.
cage slips a jab from Steady.
Steady misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
cage tries to clinch up.
No joy there for Steady, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
cage moves in looking to clinch but Steady pushes him off.
cage uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Steady has time to react.
Steady misses with the combination.
cage tries to clinch up.
Steady tries to work over cage's front leg with a kick but cage checks it.
Steady circles away from the clinch attempt.

Steady throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

It looks like Y cage has been cut.
cage tries to close the distance and clinch but Steady swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
cage tries to clinch but Steady is having none of it.
Steady throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends cage stumbling backwards into the cage! cage bounces back off the cage towards Steady, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Steady lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Steady celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
