Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shinaya Ako Bruaa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dan Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dan Johnson will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Bruaa checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Johnson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Bruaa's calf.
A solid leg kick lands there for Bruaa.
Johnson throws a low kick but Bruaa moves out of range easily.

Bruaa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bruaa lands in his opponent's guard.

Bruaa drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Bruaa jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Johnson can do anything to dispel that myth.
Johnson has momentary wrist control but Bruaa slips an elbow through the middle.

Johnson's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Bruaa is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Johnson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.
Bruaa has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Johnson wants to control but Bruaa is having none of it.

Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bruaa. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Johnson is in a horrible position here. Bruaa smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
