PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Junior THE MORAIS Morais (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Street Fighta (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fighta has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Junior THE MORAIS Morais!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Street Fighta!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, Cecil Peabody and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morais misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Fighta looks gassed!
Fighta shoots and misses

and Morais counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Morais breaks from the clinch.
Morais tries to close the distance and clinch up but Fighta swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Morais feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

and Fighta decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Morais's guard.
Morais wants to sweep but no luck.
Fighta in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Morais had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Fighta is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Morais Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Fighta's back instead.

Morais is trying to stick to Fighta's back but Fighta is turning into Morais. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Morais's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Fighta.

Morais bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Fighta's guard.

Morais drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Morais jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Morais looks to clinch

and Fighta counters with a takedown into side control.
Morais is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Fighta thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Morais is trying to control Fighta's posture but Fighta avoids it.

Fighta lands an elbow.
Morais tries to contro but end up mounted... ooooh, that's bad.
Morais is trying to reverse the position but instead Fighta has taken his back - oops!

Fighta has Morais flattened out and is raining down punches.

Morais has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Morais covering up well and avoiding damage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Street Fighta showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Junior THE MORAIS Morais.
I think Fighta has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
