Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Richard Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kerry Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by No More Pain. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are George Francis, Frank Dennis and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ward throws a body punch but Simmons moves out of range.
Simmons feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ward's calf.
Simmons lands a head shot.
Simmons ducks under a wild hook from Ward.
Simmons swings away with a body shot that misses
and Ward counters with a slapping leg kick.
Ward staying out of range there.
Ward throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Simmons shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ward as he jumps to the side.
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch up but Simmons swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Simmons bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ward's head backwards.
Ward missing with a left hand there. Simmons was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Ward throws a nice inside leg kick.
No joy there for Simmons, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Ward misses with a body kick.
Richard Simmons seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A looping hook to the body misses from Simmons. Ward does a little dance to reset his feet.
Ward takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Simmons bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Simmons buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Ward lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Simmons swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
Simmons closes the distance and clinches up with Ward, looking for a takedown. Simmons pushes Ward against the cage but Ward circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Richard Simmons. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Simmons is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ward doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Simmons.

Crunch! Simmons slams his shin into Ward's torso.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Simmons throws a series of punches but Ward moves out of range.

Simmons is trying to control. Ward wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
