Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kevin Silliard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jacobi Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Kevin Silliard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Jacobi Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Ben Zyskovitsi and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson tries to clinch up.
Wilson is looking to clinch but Silliard is avoiding it.
Wilson doesn't manage to clinch there - Silliard circles away.

Wilson darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wilson lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Silliard tries to roll over but Wilson keeps him under control.
Silliard avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Wilson.

Wilson has decided to stand back up but his arm is trapped. Whilst he's worrying about his arm, Silliard works to full guard.
Wilson wants to stand but Silliard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Wilson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Wilson wants to stand but Silliard has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Silliard is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Wilson is trying to stand up here but Silliard is controlling him well.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Kevin Silliard.
Wilson dives in and grabs Silliard's left leg, looking for a takedown. Silliard pushes down on Wilson's head and hops out.
Silliard shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Wilson defends it nicely.
Wilson tries to close the distance and clinch but Silliard swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Wilson takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Wilson attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Wilson doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Silliard moves into the clinch.
Wilson looks gassed!

Silliard is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Wilson can't fight it off and eventually Silliard manages to take the fight to the floor. Wilson looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Kevin Silliard will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Wilson.
An elbow from Wilson crashes against the mat.

Wilson decides to stand up, so the ref orders Silliard to his feet.
Wilson tries to clinch but Silliard moves away

and Silliard counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Wilson is breathing heavily.
Silliard tries to free his leg and advance position but Wilson is retaining full guard.

Silliard pushes down on Wilson's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Wilson is trying to stand back up but Silliard is controlling him
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Wilson tries to kick Silliard off but Silliard keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Kevin Silliard wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Silliard misses the shot to the body.
Silliard tries a head kick but it misses.
Silliard pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Wilson darts in trying to clinch

and Silliard decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Wilson's guard.
Silliard is stalling in the full guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Wilson is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Silliard is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Silliard wants to clinch but Wilson slips to the side
and Wilson counters with a three punch combo that has Silliard backing up. Silliard nods at Wilson to acknowledge the strikes.

Wilson rushes Silliard and presses him up against the cage.

Wilson breaks the clinch.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Silliard.

Silliard is trying to get an arm triangle but Wilson is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kevin Silliard dominated that second round.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!



Wilson gets caught flat footed, as Silliard shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Silliard advances position into side control!
Wilson is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
Silliard laying and praying for a moment but Wilson takes advantage and regains half guard.
Wilson is trying to stand.
Wilson takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Silliard takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Wilson is trying to stand back up but Silliard is controlling him
Silliard controlling the pace.
Wilson pushes Silliard off looking to stand but Silliard dives back in and keeps control.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Silliard seems to be looking for submissions.

Silliard seems to be working for a kimura but Wilson defends the submission attempt.

Wilson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Wilson throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Silliard was covering up waiting for the punch and Wilson finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Jacobi Wilson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Silliard preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Silliard avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Silliard tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Wilson thows a big elbow that misses.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Silliard manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Wilson manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Kevin Silliard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Silliard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
