Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Oscar King!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Micheal Myer!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fight stays on the outside here - Myer looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Myer has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from King finds it's way round the side to connect with Myer's head.
Nice takedown defense from Myer. No joy for King on that attempt.
King throws a hook but Myer blocks it.

King moves into range and clinches up with Myer.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King fails in his attempt to clinch.
Myer shoots in for a takedown but King shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Myer shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Myer showed some decent athleticism there.
Myer is taking a breather. King says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
King looks like he's trying to stand up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Myer tries for a takedown but King sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Myer thows a body shot but no joy.
A slow jab from Myer misses its intended target.

King gets the takedown into side control.
King working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Myer manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

King holds on to Myer as tight as he can, avoiding damage.

King wants to hold on but Myer pushes him away.
Myer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
Myer lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Myer thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

King knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Myer on the ground.
Myer landing punches.
King is in all sorts of trouble here.
King on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if King tries to get out of the position.

Myer sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.
King is wriggling around trying to escape.
Myer controlling from the full mount.
King regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Micheal Myer dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Myer swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
King throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
King lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Myer at a distance.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
King avoiding damage.
Myer fails to pull the fight into his guard.

King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
No joy there for King, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Myer misses with a combination
and King counters with a lovely straight right hand!
King fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oscar King is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
King doesn't manage to clinch there - Myer circles away.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Myer tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance.
Myer wants to clinch
enabling King to counter with a crisp jab.
Myer fails with an attempt to clinch.
Myer misses with a wild combination.
King lands with a straight right. Myer didn't see that one coming.
A left lands for King.

and King counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by King.
Myer has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. King is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Oscar King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Myer.
Myer is breathing heavily.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
King moves in looking to clinch but Myer pushes him off.
King works over Myer's head and body with a nice combination.


It looks like Micheal Myer has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

King closes the distance and clinches.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting King here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A short left from King.
Myer is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. King is defending well for now.

King breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Myer shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in King's guard.
Myer wants to control from the top but King keeps moving.
Myer prevents King from getting back to his feet.
Myer tries to free his leg and advance position but King is retaining full guard.
King wants to sweep here but Myer controlling him for the moment.
Myer wants to stand but King has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Myer stops King from standing up.
Myer wants to pass the guard but King is keeping the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
King circles away from the clinch attempt

and King holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

King manages to pull guard.
Myer landing with the ground and pound.
Myer has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Myer trying to control the position from guard on top but King is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Myer stops King from standing up.

Myer stands up from King's guard - Myer perhaps looking for a knockout.

Myer tries to keep at a distance but King has taken the fight into the clinch.
Myer prevents the takedown attempt.

King breaks the clinch.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Excellent takedown into side control there by King.

Myer explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

King rushes Myer and presses him up against the cage.
Myer tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. King just stands there and leans against the cage.

King's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Myer wants to clinch.
Myer drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
King shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Myer but Myer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Myer tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Myer misses with a combination
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Myer swats away the attempt to clinch by King.
King lands a really nice looking cross but Myer seems unphased.
Oscar King is winning the standup battle so far.
Myer tries to clinch up.
Myer throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around King's waist but King gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Myer off to one side.
Myer takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
King stuns Myer with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
King tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Myer paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Nice straight punches there by King. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of King.
Myer shoots in looking for a takedown. King tries to sprawl out of it but Myer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. King manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Oscar King has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Micheal Myer.
Myer wants to clinch
and King counters with a series of strikes. Myer will be more careful next time no doubt.
King lunges at Myer with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Myer's hand.

King clinches up with Myer and pushes him back against the cage.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King breaks from the clinch.

King displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Myer throws out the jab.

King is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Myer's half guard.
King lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
King looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Myer is looking for a sweep. King is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

King looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
King thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Myer moves into full guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
King wants to get up but he can't break Myer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Myer will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
King throws a push kick but Myer slaps the foot to one side.
Myer tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and King connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
King is looking to clinch.
King connects with a looping right hand.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Myer is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by King.

Myer closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Myer shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. King defends it nicely.

And that's the end of the fight!
Oscar King showed his dominance in that final round.
I think King has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
