Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Arnold Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Arnold Anderson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Arnold Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Paul Lee!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Shimada, Shigeki Sano and Shigeki Fujiwara.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Anderson.
Anderson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lee doesn't seem bothered though.
Nice uppercut there from Anderson.


It looks like Paul Lee has been cut.

Lee shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Lee was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Lee goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Anderson is on top in guard.
Anderson has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Lee wants to sweep but no luck.
Lee not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Lee had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Anderson defends it easily.
Lee has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Lee looking to hit a scissor sweep but Anderson is one step ahead there.
Lee is trying to keep Anderson in close.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Lee wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Lee is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Anderson lands a lovely overhand right.
Lee blocks the body kick.

Lee avoids a punch combination nicely.
Anderson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch but Anderson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Lee uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Anderson.
Anderson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Lee.
Nice cross by Anderson.
Anderson keeps the fight on the outside.
Anderson bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lee's head backwards.
Anderson throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Lee tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Anderson paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Anderson is looking to chop away at Lee's legs.

Lee feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Lee controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Lee works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Lee moves nicely into side control.
Anderson regains half guard.

That's five minutes gone in the round.
Anderson is staying active underneath Lee, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Lee sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Anderson defending well though.

Anderson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Lee on the ground.
Lee works to advance to full mount. Anderson defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Lee working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Anderson looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Lee! Submission of the night perhaps?
