Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Daniel Drapeau!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Mariano Ozawa!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ozawa is looking to clinch.
A combination from Drapeau does no damage.
Drapeau throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ozawa.

Ozawa shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Drapeau is trying to get back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are battling for position here. Drapeau manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Ozawa won't allow Drapeau to sweep him here.

Ozawa wants to get back to striking at distance but Drapeau won't allow it.
Ozawa wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Drapeau has him pressed against the cage.

Drapeau has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Drapeau is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Ozawa is surviving well by controlling Drapeau's body position as best he can.

Daniel Drapeau overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Drapeau lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Ozawa hang on?

Daniel Drapeau has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Ozawa tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Drapeau counters with an outside leg kick.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Daniel Drapeau.
Drapeau stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Drapeau seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Ozawa for as long as he can get away with.
