Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Billy Riley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Mo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, Billy Riley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Mo!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mo swinging wildly here.

Riley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mo looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Riley is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Mo is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Mo is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Riley is controlling him well.

Riley decides to stand up, so the ref orders Mo to his feet.
Mo tries to bum rush Riley with a series of wild strikes but Riley uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Mo throws a series of punches but Riley avoids them all with ease.
Mo throws a right hand that Riley ducks under and follows up with a left that Riley also avoids with ease.
Mo misses with a jab, cross combination.

Riley shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Riley landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
Riley is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mo is looking to escape.
Mo is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Mo looks gassed!

Riley wants to free his trapped foot but Mo is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Riley is trying to control the action in half guard but Mo is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Mo tries to kick Riley off but Riley keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Riley is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Mo sees it coming and defends easily.
Mo is looking to escape.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Riley shoots in and bounces Mo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Riley drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Riley jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Riley is standing up over Mo. Mo looks to escape but Riley dives into side control.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Mo is pushing Riley's head away, looking to escape. Riley manages to hold on to the position though.

Riley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mo, who protects the arm well.
Mo wants to get back to his feet.
Riley lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mo down.

Mo pushes Riley away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Riley gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Riley wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Mo, who protects the arm well.
Mo is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Riley asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Riley lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Mo down.

Mo wants to get back to his feet.
Mo is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Riley is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mo has escaped the position, nice work there.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Mo defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Riley.
Riley showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Mo.

Mo gets caught flat footed, as Riley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Mo wants to get back to his feet but Riley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Riley keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Mo's head.

Mo wriggles free and stands up.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Riley.
Riley is putting a hurting on Mo here, landing some big shots from side control.

Riley tries for a kimura but Mo is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Billy Riley dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mo misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A nice combination there by Mo.

Riley shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Riley was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

You get the feeling that Mo really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Riley postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Mo looks a forlorn figure.

Riley has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Riley can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Mo is looking to escape.
Mo is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

Mo wants to get back to his feet but in bucking up he's left an arm hanging out! Riley has locked onto it and has pulled off a slick armbar! Mo taps furiously! This one is all over!
