Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between ZPryde Simmons (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vilmar Freitas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Simmons comes to the cage accompanied by Hood Mentality. ZPryde Simmons could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Vilmar Freitas's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Simmons throws a one two combo.

Simmons tries to sprawl but Freitas drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Freitas not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Freitas stops Simmons from getting back to his feet.
Freitas seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Simmons looks like he's trying to stand up.
Freitas is nestled in close to Simmons, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Freitas moves nicely into side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Freitas looks up at the clock and then as Simmons takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Freitas smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Freitas can't escape the position.
Simmons is not going to allow Freitas to sit and survive in this position.
Simmons is striking well from the back but Freitas escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being.
Simmons tries to stand but can't do so whilst Freitas controls his leg.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Freitas is on top in guard.

Simmons wriggles free and stands up.

A close round but Vilmar Freitas will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Simmons will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Freitas fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Simmons throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Simmons goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Simmons lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Freitas circles away quickly and effectively.
Freitas is breathing heavily.

Simmons throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Freitas walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Danga de danga de dang - Simmons scores with a four punch combination!
Simmons connects with a crisp jab.
Freitas swats away the attempt to clinch by Simmons.
Simmons connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Freitas momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Simmons throws an overhand right from the outside, which connects and sends Freitas stumbling backwards into the cage! Freitas bounces back off the cage towards Simmons, who cracks him with a two punch combination that drops him to his knees! Simmons lands two more shots before the referee has chance to intervene - what a finish! Simmons celebrates with his corner as the crowd cheer loudly.
