Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bastian Schweinsteiger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Patryk Ciechan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Schweinsteiger comes to the cage accompanied by Son Kite - On Air. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Steven Brown, Richard Clark and James Ackerman.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ciechan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Schweinsteiger defends it nicely.

Schweinsteiger darts in and clinches Ciechan up against the cage.
Ciechan tries a knee to the head but Schweinsteiger blocks it.
Schweinsteiger drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
Ciechan is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Schweinsteiger is defending well for now.

Schweinsteiger is trying to drag Ciechan to the mat but Ciechan just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Ciechan drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Schweinsteiger gets the underhooks and prevents it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

It looks like Bastian Schweinsteiger has been cut.
Schweinsteiger blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Schweinsteiger is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Ciechan gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bastian Schweinsteiger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Schweinsteiger dodges an elbow strike from Ciechan.

Ciechan manages to break the clinch.
Ciechan moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Ciechan tries to stand but Schweinsteiger is controlling from the bottom.

Schweinsteiger is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ciechan is aware though and is defending well.
Ciechan sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Schweinsteiger's guard.
Ciechan passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Schweinsteiger!
Ciechan unloads with some shots from mount but Schweinsteiger bucks and avoids them well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Schweinsteiger is wriggling around trying to escape.

Ciechan working for a submission here. He's tucked his head under his opponent's arm, looking for an arm triangle. He's hopped off into side control, looking to tighten the submission... is it going to work? He's given up a good position looking for it. Schweinsteiger looks OK. Oh, I spoke too soon, he's out! That must have been tighter than I thought! Excellent work there by Ciechan! Submission of the night perhaps?
