Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Schlock Leznar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jim Dangle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Leznar comes to the cage accompanied by The Champ by Ghostface Killah. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Schlock Leznar!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jim Dangle!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Tiny Johnson and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leznar tests Dangle's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Dangle tries to score a power double leg takedown but Leznar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dangle somewhat.
Leznar is looking to slow Dangle down with leg kicks.
Dangle looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Dangle uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Leznar.
Dangle lands with a slapping head kick.
Dangle takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Leznar scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dangle in his tracks.

Leznar attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Leznar dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Dangle. That did some damage!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Leznar is in all sorts of trouble here.

Dangle shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Leznar manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dangle loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Leznar is trying to control the position but Dangle postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Dangle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Dangle uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Leznar.
Leznar looks to throw the jab but Dangle is out of range.
Leznar throws a leg kick
and Dangle counters with a left and a right that stings Leznar.
A shot to the body from Leznar misses
and Dangle counters with a left to the body.
A low kick from Leznar is predictable there
and Dangle counters with a low kick, right behind Leznar 's knee.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Leznar ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Dangle moves away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jim Dangle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Leznar swings away with a body shot that misses

and Dangle counters with a single leg into guard. Leznar didn't expect that.
Leznar working a defensive guard but Dangle manages to pass into side control anyway.
Leznar is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dangle is controlling him well.
Leznar is looking for a sweep.
Leznar takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Dangle with the ground and pound but Leznar regains half guard under the barage of strikes.
Dangle prevents Leznar from improving his position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leznar tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Dangle has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Leznar tries to reverse the position but Dangle maintains control.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Dangle. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

and Dangle counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Dangle will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Dangle looks for a takedown but Leznar sprawls well.
Dangle shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Leznar sprawls well. Leznar wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dangle gets slowly back to his feet.
Schlock Leznar has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jim Dangle.

Dangle sizes up Leznar with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.

Dangle manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Leznar is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Leznar is looking to get to half guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Leznar regains half guard.
Leznar throws a sloppy strike from the bottom. He's now off balance and Dangle manages to pass to side control.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Schlock Leznar.
I think Dangle has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
