PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Michael Patterson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chest Montaray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Patterson comes to the cage accompanied by House of the rising sun. Chest Montaray told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Patterson closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Patterson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Patterson manages to end up in side control.
Montaray is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Patterson's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Patterson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Montaray on the ground.
Patterson tries to pass to full mount but Montaray defends it.
Montaray is trying to control but can't.
Patterson tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Montaray manages to get to full guard.
Montaray is trying to control the position from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Montaray is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Montaray is looking to advance position but Patterson won't allow it.

Patterson makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Montaray takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Patterson scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Montaray decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Patterson is not content to let Montaray control the position.

Patterson wants to stand back up but Montaray manages to pass into side control.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Patterson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Montaray escapes and throws Patterson's legs to the side, diving into side control!

It looks like Chest Montaray has been cut.
Patterson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Horrible takedown by Montaray or perhaps it was just good defense by Patterson which made him look bad.
Montaray is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Patterson.

Patterson is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Montaray bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Patterson fakes the body blow, causing Montaray to drop his hands! Left hook to the temple! Montaray goes stiff, and falls face first into the mat. Goodnight!
