A fine choice. The crowd seem to be enjoying Renton's choice of entrance music: Living is a Problem. Frank Ricard has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ricard closes the distance and clinches.
Ricard scores with a hook to the body.

Ricard gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

Renton wants to improve his position but Ricard is controlling well.
Ricard has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Ricard slips a nice elbow through Renton's hands, connecting with Renton's forehead.
Ricard works his foot free and advances to mount.

Ricard is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Renton can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Renton is working to get back to half guard.
Ricard wants to control the pace but Renton is squirming around nicely.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ricard is breathing heavily.

Ricard thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Ricard advances to half guard.
Ricard moves into full mount! Renton won't be happy about that!

Renton is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Ricard works his way into full mount!
Ricard has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Renton's face.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Renton takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Renton is in a horrible position here. Ricard smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Renton is rocked!

It looks like Mark Renton has been cut.

Ricard stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Renton is still on wobbly legs! Can Ricard finish him?
Ricard shoots in but no luck this time.
Frank Ricard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ricard closes the distance looking for a takedown. Renton stuffs it but Ricard still has hold of him. Ricard picks Renton up in a fireman's lift! The crowd roars in approval. Ricard slams Renton to the floor and that's really hurt Renton - he doesn't know where he is! Ricard throws a couple of strikes and the referee steps in to save him! This one is in the books!
