Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Cody Huber!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Kabe Waybe!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Waybe.
Horrible takedown by Huber or perhaps it was just good defense by Waybe which made him look bad.

Huber closes the distance and pushes Waybe back into the cage.
Huber pushes Waybe back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Huber tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Waybe smiles and moves away.
Huber tries to clinch but Waybe moves out of range.
Waybe tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Huber counters by clinching up.

Huber ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Huber no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Waybe wanted to stand there but Huber had control of the position.

Waybe avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Huber is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Waybe trying to control the position from guard on top but Huber is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Waybe content to stall in guard here.
Huber wants to improve his position but instead Waybe has moved into half guard.
Waybe seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Huber wants to control but Waybe is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Huber tries to roll over but Waybe keeps him under control.
Waybe trying to control the action but Huber is working from the bottom.
Huber on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Huber tries to get out of the position.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Huber shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Huber trying to control but Waybe is working from the bottom.
Waybe is controlling Huber's posture.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Waybe lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Huber!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Huber tries to reverse the position but Waybe maintains control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Huber throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Huber looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Waybe wants to clinch up but Huber keeps it at a distance.
Waybe shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Huber shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Waybe sprawls well. Waybe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Huber gets slowly back to his feet.
Waybe throws a series of punches but Huber moves out of range.
Cody Huber seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huber shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Waybe as he avoids it easily.

Huber displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Waybe throws out the jab.

Waybe is looking to clinch.

Waybe throws a series of punches but Huber avoids them all with ease.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from Huber - that will leave a mark!
Waybe is breathing heavily.
Waybe displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Huber.
Huber moves out of range of the leg kick from Waybe.
Huber shoots in looking for a takedown. Waybe tries to sprawl out of it but Huber keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Waybe manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Waybe lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Waybe.
Nice takedown defense from Waybe. No joy for Huber on that attempt.
Waybe is looking to score with low kicks.

Waybe has taken the fight to the clinch.
Knees in the clinch landing for Waybe.
Waybe is trying to break free.

Waybe breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Huber changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Waybe tries to avoid it but Huber manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Waybe to the ground. Waybe escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Waybe moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.

Waybe misses with a kick to the body.
Waybe throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Waybe throws a left and a right that both miss

and Huber counters by moving into the clinch.
Waybe is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Huber jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Waybe walks away with a smile on his face. Huber gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Huber.
Huber wants to control but Waybe is keeping him busy.
Huber throws an elbow but Waybe slips to the side and avoids it well.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Huber scores with a couple of short elbows.
What's Waybe going to do here then? He's in a bit of a pickle.
Waybe pushes Huber away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Huber gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Waybe is looking for a sweep.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Cody Huber will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Waybe digs a right hand into Huber's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Huber's gas tank.

Waybe tries to close the distance and clinch but Huber swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Waybe darts in and clinches Huber up against the cage.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Waybe crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Huber - the referee stops the clock and Waybe gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Huber. Waybe manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
Waybe is looking to chop away at Huber's legs.
Huber tries to score a power double leg takedown but Waybe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Huber somewhat.
Waybe fails in his attempt to clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Huber fails to land the takedown.

Waybe gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Huber breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Danga de danga de dang - Waybe scores with a four punch combination!
Nice sprawl there from Waybe as Huber shoots in.
Waybe tries to clinch there but Huber circles away.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Kabe Waybe has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
