PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jason The Raven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amenofis Akhenaton (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The Raven kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Broken Dreams. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Amenofis Akhenaton!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Winston Howard.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akhenaton slips a jab and a cross from The Raven.
Akhenaton doesn't manage to clinch there - The Raven circles away.
Akhenaton shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts The Raven as he jumps to the side.
Akhenaton tries for a takedown but The Raven sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The Raven takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

The Raven lands a head kick that stumbles Akhenaton and the fighters go to the mat.

It looks like Amenofis Akhenaton has been cut.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The Raven decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Akhenaton dives in and grabs The Raven's left leg, looking for a takedown. The Raven pushes down on Akhenaton's head and hops out.
Jason The Raven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Amenofis Akhenaton.
The Raven throws a body kick that misses.
The Raven stuffs the takedown attempt from Akhenaton. Akhenaton gets slowly back to his feet.
Jason The Raven seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The Raven rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Akhenaton moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Akhenaton defends well against a solid takedown attempt from The Raven.
Akhenaton shoots in for a double leg but The Raven sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Akhenaton blocks a head kick by The Raven.
Akhenaton will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Akhenaton looks gassed!
Akhenaton takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Akhenaton tries for a takedown but The Raven sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
The Raven connects with a high kick.
The Raven connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Akhenaton! He's out on his feet! The Raven rushes in and drops Akhenaton with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
