And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 8 - 0, fighting out of London, James Green!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Steven Brown and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Green wants to clinch up but Bloggs keeps it at a distance.
Green fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Bloggs throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bloggs tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Green paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Green fails to land the takedown.
Green circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bloggs throws a hook but Green blocks it.
Green lands a lovely overhand right.

Bloggs has Green up against the cage in a clinch.
Green can't find room to land a body shot as Bloggs controls the action.
Green works on Bloggs's body with a couple of short punches.
Bloggs fails to pull guard.

Green jumps into guard, dragging Bloggs to the mat.
Green trying to keep a closed guard but Bloggs is proving a slippery customer.
Bloggs might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Green looking for a sweep. Not yet Green, not yet.
Bloggs postures up.
Bloggs sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Green's guard.
Green tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
Green avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bloggs.
Green gets back to full guard.
Green lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bloggs!

Green pushing the pace here, looking to move to his opponents back and work for a finish.
Bloggs is looking to improve his position but Green isn't that keen on the idea.
Bloggs tries to improve his position but instead Green has taken his back!
So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.
Bloggs manages to reverse the position and now he's in Green's guard. Nice work there by Bloggs.
Bloggs wants to stand but Green has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Green lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Bloggs!

Green stands up from mount. Strange move.

Bloggs darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Green actively working from the bottom here.

Green is staying active underneath Bloggs, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Green tries to roll over but Bloggs keeps him under control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bloggs throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Bloggs is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Green wants to get back to full guard.

Green controls Bloggs momentarily but Bloggs frees himself.
Green keeping full guard, as Bloggs tries to pass.
Bloggs makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Bloggs pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Green is keeping the position for now.
Bloggs working some strikes from top position.
Green wants to sweep but no luck.
Green is pulling down on Bloggs's head. It's preventing any offense from Bloggs, at least for the moment.
Green looking to control.

Green looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Bloggs has picked Green up and slammed him! Green can't keep hold of the triangle and Bloggs manages to pass to side control!
You can see the frustration on Green's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Green manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!
Green looks gassed!
Bloggs moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Bloggs keeping moving, preventing Green from controlling successfully.

Bloggs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Green doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Green manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Green trying to control but Bloggs is working from the bottom.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Joe Bloggs will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Bloggs rushes Green and presses him up against the cage.

Green is working Bloggs over against the cage.
Green tries to throw a body punch but Bloggs avoids it by throwing Green back against the cage.
Green misses with a body punch.
Green stalling.

Green is leaning against Bloggs and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.
Green cracks Bloggs with a nice body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Green escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bloggs takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Green connects with a body shot.

Green closes the distance and clinches.
A right hook to the body lands for Green.
Green stalls.
Green stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.
Green misses with a punch to the body.
Green goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bloggs prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Bloggs misses with a short punch on the inside.
Bloggs swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Bloggs tries to pull guard but Green holds him up against the cage and eventually Bloggs drops back down to his feet.

Green breaks the clinch.

Bloggs gets caught flat footed, as Green shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Green trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Green is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Green got a little sloppy there for a moment and Bloggs has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Green has managed to get both his arms back between Bloggs's legs - danger averted.

Green is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Greenis looking to pass into half guard but Bloggs pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Bloggs is in guard.

Green tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Bloggs avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Bloggs tries to free his leg and advance position but Green is retaining full guard.
Green is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.

Bloggs stands and steps away. Green gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
No joy there for Bloggs, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Bloggs darts in trying to clinch

and Green counters by clinching up.

Bloggs fails to pull guard.
Green lands a shot to the body.
Green goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Bloggs tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Green just stands there and leans against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Joe Bloggs. That's going to take a lot out of him.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Bloggs.
Bloggs is trying to break the clinch but Green is controlling him.
Bloggs misses with a short punch on the inside.
Green lands a body punch.
Nice body punch from Green - that landed with a thud.
Green lands a body punch.
Green lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Bloggs backwards.
Good body shot from Green.
Green tries a body shot but Bloggs blocks it.
Nice body punch from Green.
Green tries to land knees in the clinch but Bloggs avoids the damage to the body.
Green tries to work over Bloggs's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Bloggs has had enough of the clinch but Green keeps him there for the moment.

Green is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Bloggs controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Green wants to sweep but no luck.
Bloggs with a nice head shot there.

Bloggs is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Green pushes Bloggs off and gets back to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Green showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Green scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
Bloggs misses the jab.
Joe Bloggs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Green lands a body shot.
Green looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Green lands a nice shot that snaps Bloggs's head back.
Bloggs circles away from the clinch attempt.
Bloggs jabs Green right on the nose. Green blinks but takes it well.
Bloggs fails to land the takedown.
Bloggs shoots in for a takedown but Green shows good takedown defense.
Bloggs wants to clinch
and Green counters with a right hand to the body.

Green closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Good body shot from Green.
A right hook to the body lands for Green.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Green pushes Bloggs back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Green has hold of one of Bloggs's legs. Bloggs is fighting the takedown attempt but Green gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Green controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Green looking to pass the guard.
Green is pushing down on Bloggs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Bloggs is fighting to maintain full guard but Green has managed to sneak the leg through.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Green in particular looking to stall.
Green trying to control from half guard but Bloggs is working away.

Green looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Bloggs looking for submissions off his back.
James Green has got the better of the ground game so far.

Green has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Bloggs defend it? Green steps over the head and cranks it - Bloggs is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for Green!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). James Green! James Green retains his heavyweight title!
