Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Toshiki Taniyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bob Ong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bob Ong will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Toshiki Taniyama!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Bob Ong!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Sosuke Kotani and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ong scores with the left hand. Taniyama knows he should have avoided that one.

Ong is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.

Ong moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Ong cracks Taniyama with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Taniyama shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Ong fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Taniyama looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Taniyama tries to close the distance and clinch but Ong swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Taniyama takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ong changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.

Toshiki Taniyama seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bob Ong dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ong stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Taniyama takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.

Ong throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Taniyama walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Taniyama moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Ong, as that shot connected.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ong throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Ong is working Taniyama over against the ropes.
Ong keeps control of Taniyama as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Taniyama throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Ong blocks it with crossed arms.
Taniyama is trying to push Ong away but Ong has him pressed against the ropes, so he's going nowhere.

Taniyama looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.

Ong is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ong lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.

Ong throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Taniyama on the side of the head.

Ong scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Taniyama on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Bob Ong comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Ong has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
