Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Caupolican Mapuche (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pekka Routalempi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Routalempi tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Routalempi.
Mapuche is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Mapuche is looking for a sweep. Routalempi is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Routalempi throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Routalempi drops back looking for a leg! Mapuche is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Mapuche manages to kick Routalempi off! Routalempi jumps back into Mapuche's guard.

Mapuche throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Routalempi has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Mapuche turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Mapuche just misses with a punch to the body.

Mapuche shoots in looking for a takedown. Routalempi tries to sprawl out of it but Mapuche keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Routalempi manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Routalempi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Mapuche takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Mapuche breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Caupolican Mapuche seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mapuche fails with the takedown.
Mapuche is breathing heavily.
Mapuche avoids the head kick by Routalempi.
Mapuche shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Routalempi sprawls well. Routalempi wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Mapuche gets slowly back to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Caupolican Mapuche. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Routalempi tries to close the distance and clinch up but Mapuche swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Routalempi closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mapuche tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Routalempi wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Routalempi is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Mapuche has escaped the position, nice work there.
