The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Big Mack shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Bass as he jumps to the side.
Bass displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Big Mack.

Bass rushes Big Mack and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Big Mack with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Big Mack is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Bass gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Ernest Bass has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Big Mack.
Big Mack goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bass prevents it.

Bass pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Big Mack shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Bass as he avoids it easily.
Bass lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.

Bass drops Big Mack with a right and a left! Bass comes rushing in but Big Mack regains his composure and manages to keep Bass in guard.

Big Mack is rocked!

It looks like John Big Mack has been cut.
Big Mack looks gassed!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bass seems to be working for a kimura but Big Mack defends the submission attempt.

Bass is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Bass lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Bass is sitting in half guard. He's postured up and lands a nice elbow. Oh, Big Mack is hurt! He's hurt bad - Bass fires away with more strikes and the referee jumps in to save Big Mack from any more punishment! Congratulations to Bass! Great finish!
