Kernes has chosen Reign Supreme - Persevere And Overcome as his entrance music. Jay Kernes is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kernes moves out of range as Carrol strikes.
A slapping leg kick lands for Kernes.
Carrol throws a lazy right hand but Kernes sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

It looks like Tonie Carrol has been cut.
Carrol just misses with a punch to the body.

Tonie Carrol seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kernes tries to score a power double leg takedown but Carrol sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Kernes somewhat.
