Evans kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is 2-Pac-Breathin'. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Evans throws a body punch but Thaiday moves out of range.
Thaiday fails to land with a series of punches.
Thaiday misses with an uppercut.
Thaiday misses with a two punch combination.
Thaiday misses with a series of wild punches.
Evans throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Thaiday falls off balance throwing a combination
and Evans counters with a one-two to the body.

Thaiday closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Evans did well to prevent Thaiday getting side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Thaiday throws a strike but Evans rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Thaiday can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Evans is looking to escape.
Evans tries to lock up and control but Thaiday gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Thaiday lands a big shot there that rocks Evans but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Thaiday tries to control but Evans wriggling away.

Thaiday is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Evans has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Evans!

Thaiday has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Evans can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Thaiday throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Evans counters with a one-two to the body.
Thaiday will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Evans uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Thaiday.
Thaiday lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Evans circles away quickly and effectively.
Thaiday shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Evans scores with a jab to the body.
Evans throws a series of punches but Thaiday avoids them all with ease.
Evans misses with a low kick.
Evans takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.


Quinton Evans's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
Evans stalks Thaiday and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thaiday's face. Thaiday staggers backwards, shaken.


It looks like Sam Thaiday has been cut.

A left lands for Evans.
Thaiday is breathing heavily.
Evans keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Thaiday gets cracked there but stands up to it.
Nice uppercut lands for Evans. That snapped Thaiday's head back.


That has opened up Sam Thaiday's cut even more.
Thaiday takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Thaiday takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
A decent looking cross lands there for Evans.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Evans connects with a right hand. Thaiday shakes it off.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Evans, as that shot connected.
Evans ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sam Thaiday seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thaiday walks into a jab.
Evans swinging wildly here.
Evans jabs Thaiday right on the nose. Thaiday blinks but takes it well.


The cut above Sam Thaiday's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
Thaiday shoots in for a takedown but Evans shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

The fight stays on the outside here - Evans looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Evans wants to clinch up but Thaiday keeps it at a distance.
Quinton Evans is winning the standup battle so far.
Evans tries to clinch up but Thaiday circles away and keeps his distance.
Thaiday misses with a telegraphed body shot
letting Evans counter with a right hand.
A combination from Thaiday does no damage.
Thaiday thows a left - swing and a miss!

and Evans counters with a straight right hand.
Evans bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Thaiday's head backwards.
Evans cracks Thaiday with a right hand to the side of the head.


Sam Thaiday's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
Evans lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thaiday swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Evans counters with a stiff right hand.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Sam Thaiday's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Quinton Evans!
