Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
velasqz slips a jab from Pounder.
Pounder throws a looping overhand right but velasqz ducks down to avoid it.
Pounder dips to his left and cracks velasqz with an uppercut!
velasqz avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
velasqz shoots for a takedown but Pounder saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Pounder swats away the attempt to clinch by velasqz.

velasqz misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

velasqz escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Pounder gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

velasqz has his foot on Pounder's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Pounder works his way back into a safe position though.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

velasqz controls Pounder momentarily but Pounder frees himself.
Pounder knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for velasqz on the ground.
Pounder slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Pounder stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. velasqz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
