The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgrath misses with an uppercut. Gene saw that one coming.
Gene lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Mcgrath circles away quickly and effectively.
Mcgrath swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Gene throws a right and a left that both miss.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mcgrath can do anything to dispel that myth.

Gene darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Mcgrath has hold of Gene's hands but Gene slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.

Gene is nestled in close to Mcgrath, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
