Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Demian Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiro Akimodo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Demian Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Akiro Akimodo!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Shigeki Sano.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Akimodo has managed to clinch.
Akimodo lands a damaging elbow.
It looks like Demian Machado has been cut.
Machado jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Akimodo walks away with a smile on his face. Machado gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Akimodo fails with the takedown.
Akimodo blocks a jab.
Machado moves into the clinch.
Machado drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Akimodo gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Machado goes for a takedown in the clinch but Akimodo prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Demian Machado. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Machado goes for a takedown attempt but Akimodo pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Akimodo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Akimodo manages to break the clinch.
Machado tries for a takedown but Akimodo circles away easily
and Akimodo counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Akimodo fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Machado.
Akimodo moves into the clinch successfully.
Akimodo pulls guard successfully.
Akimodo is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Akimodo wants to get back to his feet but Machado is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Akimodo wants to stand up but Machado is controlling him.
Machado is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Machado trying to control but Akimodo is working from the bottom.
Akimodo wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Machado's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Akimodo looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Akimodo wants to stand and escape but Machado is having none of it.
Machado landing with the ground and pound.

Akimodo looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Akimodo is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Machado thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Machado prevents Akimodo from getting back to his feet.
Machado has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Akimodo looks gassed!
Machado is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Machado is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Machado seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Machado postures up.
Akimodo can't keep his opponent in guard - Machado advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Akimodo tries to kick Machado off but Machado keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Machado scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Machado passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Akimodo!
Akimodo is working to get back to half guard.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Machado cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Machado stands up from mount. Strange move.
Machado fails with the takedown
and Akimodo counters with a shoot takedown. Machado fights it but they end up in guard.
Akimodo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Machado is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Machado has escaped and now he's on top!
Akimodo should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Machado is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.
Akimodo really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Machado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Machado stands up over Akimodo, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Akimodo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Machado is one step ahead there.
Machado drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Machado jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Akimodo trying to keep a closed guard but Machado is proving a slippery customer.
Akimodo can't keep his opponent in guard - Machado advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Machado seems to be working for a kimura but Akimodo defends the submission attempt.
Akimodo tries to roll over but Machado keeps him under control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Machado seems to be looking for submissions.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Demian Machado will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Demian Machado's cut.
That's time! Machado's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
Machado tries to clinch there but Akimodo circles away.
Akimodo tries to score a power double leg takedown but Machado sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Akimodo somewhat.
Machado keeps the fight on the outside.
Akimodo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Machado gets back to half guard.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Machado makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Machado.
Demian Machado overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Akimodo trying to control but Machado is working from the bottom.
Machado manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Akimodo manages to get himself to full guard.
Akimodo is breathing heavily.
Machado is pushing down on Akimodo's leg trying to pass to half guard. Akimodo is fighting to maintain full guard but Machado has managed to sneak the leg through.
Machado with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Akimodo wants to get back to full guard.
Machado in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Akimodo tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Machado!
