And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ali Ali!
The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Steve Erwin and Eliza Hachem.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Hall's waist but Hall gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Ali off to one side.
Ali shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hall defends it nicely.
Hall tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ali swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hall shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Ali manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Hall postures up.
Hall wants to control from the top but Ali keeps moving.
Hall is looking to work some ground and pound but Ali has wrist control.

Hall throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ali stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Hall shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hall showed some decent athleticism there.

BOOM! Hall connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Dallas Hall overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Hall throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ali was covering up waiting for the punch and Hall finishes the takedown easily into guard.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! And we move into the final round!


Hall tries to close the distance and clinch but Ali swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Hall feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Hall here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Ali is trying to keep Hall in close.
Ali might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Hall kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hall connects with a nice short shot to Ali's temple.
Hall uses his free foot to push down on Ali's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Ali.

Hall's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Ali is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
