Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Oliveira (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kova Luu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kova Luu will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Oliveira closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Luu to the mat! Luu manages to get full guard.
Luu manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Luu goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Oliveira is on top in guard.
Luu looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Oliveira has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Luu is proving hard to escape from.
Luu really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Oliveira. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Oliveira throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Luu works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Oliveira stands and steps away. Luu gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Kova Luu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Luu throws a right and a left that both miss.
Oliveira will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Luu stuffs the takedown attempt from Oliveira. Oliveira gets slowly back to his feet.
Luu loads up on a big right hand but Oliveira slips the punch.
Oliveira shoots in but Luu avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Luu throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Oliveira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Luu to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Luu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliveira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Oliveira wants to sweep here but Luu controlling him for the moment.
Luu tries to free his leg and advance position but Oliveira is retaining full guard.

Luu won't allow Oliveira to get back to his feet.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Oliveira will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Luu wants to control from the top but Oliveira keeps moving.

Oliveira has his foot on Luu's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Luu works his way back into a safe position though.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
The fight stays on the outside here - Oliveira looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Luu drops back looking for a leg! Oliveira is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Oliveira manages to kick Luu off! Luu jumps back into Oliveira's guard.

Oliveira doesn't manage to clinch there - Luu circles away.
Luu misses with a double jab.

Luu shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Luu showed some decent athleticism there.
Oliveira wants to get back to his feet.
Oliveira moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Luu stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Oliveira swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Luu is breathing heavily.

Oliveira throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Luu pushing down on Oliveira's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oliveira flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Oliveira is looking for a sweep. Luu is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Oliveira is staying active underneath Luu, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Luu scores a takedown into full mount!
Oliveira might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Oliveira is trying to escape the mount.

Oliveira is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.

Luu has hold of Oliveira's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Oliveira manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Luu swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Oliveira is now in Luu's guard. A big mistake from Luu there, giving up the dominant position!

Oliveira is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Oliveira wants to control from the top but Luu keeps moving.
Luu is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Luu is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Oliveira doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Luu.
Luu is looking to stall here but Oliveira recovers full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Oliveira is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Luu is aware though and is defending well.

Luu drops back, looking for a kneebar! Oliveira looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Oliveira looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Oliveira!
