Phoenix's entrance music is Lil Troy - Wanna Be a Baller. A fine choice. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Phoenix dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Luu. That did some damage!

Luu shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Luu showed some decent athleticism there.

Luu uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Phoenix.

The crowd cheers as Phoenix lands an impressive looking overhand right. Luu doesn't seem phased though.

Phoenix lands a nice hook to Luu's body. Luu takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Phoenix moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.

Kova Luu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Luu takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Phoenix throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Luu on the side of the head.

Luu moves in looking to clinch but Phoenix pushes him off.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Phoenix fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Luu.
