Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cola De Mono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Scott Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Cola De Mono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Scott Kerr!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, John Kavanagh and Russell Pearce.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kerr avoids the head kick by De Mono.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Kerr just leaning against De Mono, taking a breather.
De Mono keeps control of Kerr as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Kerr breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kerr is defended easily by De Mono.

Kerr drives through and clinches with De Mono against the cage.

Kerr's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kerr fails in his attempt to clinch.
De Mono dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kerr. That did some damage!
De Mono tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Kerr paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Kerr shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Scott Kerr seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Kerr tries to clinch but fails miserably

and De Mono counters with a single leg into guard. Kerr didn't expect that.
Kerr looks gassed!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
De Mono is stalling in the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Mono gets to his feet - Kerr follows without any prompting.

and De Mono counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Mono.
De Mono controlling from the top position.
De Mono won't allow Kerr to get back to his feet.
De Mono is pushing down on Kerr's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kerr is fighting to maintain full guard but De Mono has managed to sneak the leg through.
De Mono is pressing down on Kerr's thigh, looking to free his foot. Kerr is holding on for now.
De Mono throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Cola De Mono has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.

De Mono closes the distance and clinches.

De Mono's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kerr shoots and misses

and De Mono counters with a nice double leg into side control. Kerr won't be happy with that.
Cola De Mono has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Scott Kerr.

De Mono lands a nice forearm strike.

De Mono tries to move to mount but Kerr blocks the move with his legs.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! De Mono's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Kerr wants to clinch.

De Mono closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

De Mono decides to return to a standing position.
De Mono tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kerr was well out of range. Poor timing from De Mono.
De Mono shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kerr as he jumps to the side.
Nice sprawl there from Kerr as De Mono shoots in.
Kerr closes the distance looking to clinch

and De Mono counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by De Mono.
De Mono prevents Kerr from getting back to his feet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kerr can do anything to dispel that myth.
De Mono is standing up over Kerr. Kerr looks to escape but De Mono dives into side control.

Kerr being controlled for a moment.
Kerr is trying to get back to his feet.
Kerr is breathing heavily.
De Mono staying calm.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Kerr wants to get back to his feet.
The ground and pound from De Mono seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
De Mono lands an elbow.

De Mono is looking to take a break and control but Kerr is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
De Mono tries to score with some ground and pound. Kerr controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
De Mono circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kerr pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

De Mono stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Kerr to get to his feet.
Kerr shoots and misses
and De Mono counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Cola De Mono is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Kerr closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Kerr wants to break free but De Mono has control.
De Mono is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Kerr is keeping busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Kerr misses with a two punch combination.
De Mono shoots in looking for a takedown. Kerr tries to sprawl out of it but De Mono keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kerr manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters circling a little - Kerr finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

De Mono is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Kerr is looking to break free of the clinch but De Mono has double underhooks.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kerr is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. De Mono is defending well for now.

De Mono has Kerr pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Kerr manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

De Mono shoots for a double leg takedown but Kerr sprawls well. He's pushed De Mono's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

De Mono blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
De Mono jumps guard but Kerr stands there with De Mono around his waist. De Mono gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Kerr moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

De Mono circles away from the clinch attempt.

Kerr forces De Mono back against the cage and clinches.
Kerr tries to score a body lock takedown but De Mono shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Kerr tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

De Mono might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kerr can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as De Mono controls the pace.
