PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between MC Muffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Beast Mode (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mode is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by get up get down. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Muffin misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Mode throws a series of punches but Muffin avoids them all with ease.
Muffin lands with a hook. Mode tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Mode moves out of range as Muffin throws a body kick.
Muffin looks for the body kick but Mode saw that one coming.
Mode misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Muffin.
Muffin throws a nice outside leg kick.

Muffin gets caught flat footed, as Mode shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Mode thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Muffin utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Muffin wants to stand but Mode is controlling the position.
Mode has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Mode should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Mode throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Muffin.

Muffin throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.

It looks like Beast Mode has been cut.

Muffin tries to bum rush Mode with a series of wild strikes but Mode uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

MC Muffin has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Beast Mode.

Mode closes the distance and clinches up with Muffin, looking for a takedown. Mode pushes Muffin against the cage but Muffin circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Mode has developed a nice purple lump on his ribcage, as a result of some heavy body kicks from Muffin.

Mode is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Muffin has escaped the position, nice work there.

Mode tries to move to mount but Muffin blocks the move with his legs.

Mode tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Mode has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Mode tries for a kimura but Muffin is defending well.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mode working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Muffin throws Mode to one side and escapes!

Muffin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Mode is pushing down on Muffin's leg trying to pass to half guard. Muffin is fighting to maintain full guard but Mode has managed to sneak the leg through.

Mode is working for a rear naked choke. Muffin is not defending it well and Mode has tightened it up quickly! This could be all over! Muffin refuses to tap and goes to sleep, forcing the referee to intervene. A little trickle of blood came out of Muffin's nose as his head slumped to the floor. That is naaaasty!
