The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brutus lands a jab-cross combination.

It looks like Marcus Fenix has been cut.
Fenix throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Brutus throws a predictable looking body shot
and Fenix counters with a head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Fenix scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Brutus doesn't seem bothered though.
Brutus misses with a double jab
and Fenix counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.

Fenix lands a jab followed by a vicious hook that sends Brutus sprawling to the canvas. Fenix follows him down, looking for the kill. Can Brutus hang on?
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Fenix in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fenix seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Brutus does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Brutus might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Marcus Fenix.
Brutus swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Fenix counters with an inside leg kick.
A cross from Fenix lands.
Fenix falls off balance throwing a combination
and Brutus counters with a straight right hand.
Brutus misses the body punch
and Fenix counters with a stiff right hand.
Nice straight punches there by Fenix. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Fenix.
Brutus is breathing heavily.
Brutus dodges the punch combination from Fenix.
Fenix fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Brutus looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Sloppy strikes from Fenix. Those never looked like landing.
Fenix lands with a nice body punch.
Marcus Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fenix lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Fenix cracks Brutus with an open hand slap.
Brutus stuffs the takedown attempt from Fenix. Fenix gets slowly back to his feet.
Fenix has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
A jab from Fenix does it's job there.

Brutus is rocked!
Fenix rushes Brutus with punches - Brutus moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Brutus goes down! Fenix follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
