Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Charles Goody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Phil Baroni (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Goody might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Go to Sleep - Eminem. Phil Baroni is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baroni connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.
Baroni throws a jab but it's blocked by Goody.
Goody lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A lazy left from Baroni finds it's target.
Baroni takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Goody throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Phil Baroni seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Baroni throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Goody stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Despite being in the dominant position, Phil Baroni just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Goody goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Baroni is on top in guard.

Goody had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Baroni is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Goody Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Baroni's back instead.

Goody controlling the position well here. Baroni rolled but Goody kept the hooks locked in and stayed in the dominant position.
Goody thows a strike but Baroni uses the opportunity to reverse the position! Great move by Baroni as he ends up in Goody 's guard!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Charles Goody.
