PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Louie Cane (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gracie has chosen Deadmau5 - Some Chords as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Fingers crossed for an exciting fight - I'm sure both fighters are looking for a nice under the table bonus!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Louie Cane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Julio Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie lands a head kick. Cane smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Cane takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Cane throws a low kick but Gracie moves out of range easily.

Both fighters circling a little - Gracie finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Gracie decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Gracie is looking for a kimura here.

Gracie wants to pass to mount but Cane is defending the position.

Gracie got a little sloppy there for a moment and Cane has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Gracie has managed to get both his arms back between Cane's legs - danger averted.

Cane looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
Cane chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Gracie can pounce on him.

Gracie throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Gracie throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cane stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Gracie throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Cane on the side of the head.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Gracie, as that shot connected.

Cane takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Gracie fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Cane has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Gracie is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Cane knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well Gracie has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
