Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Sufjan Stevens (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Simms (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevens buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Simms misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Stevens drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Simms is looking to reverse the position.
Simms gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Stevens not doing much here.

Stevens is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Simms defends it well.
Simms makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Simms.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Stevens accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Simms working for a triangle but Stevens defends it easily.
Stevens makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Simms utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Simms throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Stevens drops back looking for a leg! Simms is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Simms manages to kick Stevens off! Stevens jumps back into Simms's guard.

Simms is looking to sinch up a triangle. Stevens throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Simms's body to avoid the submission. Simms has instead reached around Stevens's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Simms arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
