Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Cody Elkins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anthony Kiedis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kiedis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Give It Away kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cody Elkins!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Anthony Kiedis!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Elkins throws the left hand but Kiedis avoids the punch easily.
Cody Elkins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A solid leg kick lands there for Kiedis.
Elkins fails with an attempt to clinch.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Kiedis.

Elkins moves in looking to clinch but Kiedis pushes him off.
Elkins tries to score a power double leg takedown but Kiedis sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Elkins somewhat.

Elkins is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Kiedis uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Elkins.
Elkins scores with a one two! Kiedis had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.


It looks like Anthony Kiedis has been cut.
Kiedis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Elkins tries to avoid it but Kiedis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Elkins to the ground. Elkins escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Kiedis tries to move into range but Elkins moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Kiedis throws a leg kick which misses Elkins's front leg but catches the back leg as Elkins tries to avoid it.

Kiedis unloads a knee to the mid-section. Elkins lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Elkins turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Elkins manages to end up in side control.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kiedis has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Elkins is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Elkins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kiedis.

Elkins shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Kiedis but Kiedis pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Kiedis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kiedis wants it to stay on the feet.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Elkins crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Kiedis - the referee stops the clock and Elkins gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Kiedis. Elkins manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Anthony Kiedis comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Kiedis has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
