Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Che Gomez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Xavier Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gomez comes into the arena with Superbeast - Rob Zombie blaring out of the sound system. Gomez has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Silva closes the distance and clinches up with Gomez, looking for a takedown. Silva pushes Gomez against the cage but Gomez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Silva takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Silva clinches up against the cage.
Gomez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Silva.
Gomez with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Gomez is breathing heavily.
Gomez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Silva.
Gomez tries to stall but Silva uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Silva wants to get back to striking at distance but Gomez won't allow it.
Silva takes an elbow to the forehead.

Gomez wants to break free but Silva has control.
Gomez keeps control of Silva as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Silva is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gomez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Che Gomez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Xavier Silva.
Gomez stalling in the clinch but Silva improves position.
Gomez seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Silva is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Silva is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.

Gomez moves into the clinch successfully.
Gomez is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Gomez stops a takedown attempt from Silva.
Gomez wants to stall.
Gomez with an attempt at a knee that misses.
Silva is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Gomez can't fight it off and eventually Silva manages to take the fight to the floor. Gomez looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Silva controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Silva stops Gomez from standing up.
Silva forces his way into half guard.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Silva uses his free foot to push down on Gomez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Gomez.
Gomez is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

You get the feeling that Gomez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Gomez is trying to reverse the position but instead Silva has taken his back - oops!
Silva has the hooks in. Gomez is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Gomez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Silva on the ground.
Gomez has the hand control, trying to stop the rear naked choke.
Gomez trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Silva controlling well, preventing Gomez from escaping the position.

Silva is working for the choke. He's slipped one arm under the chin. Gomez has to defend the other arm for all he's worth... but Silva has managed to get that arm free too and he's tightening the choke! Gomez taps out and looks absolutely disgusted with himself. Silva doesn't care though - he's delighted!
