Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sylvester Hoodoo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocky Scalante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hoodoo misses with a takedown attempt - Scalante sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Hoodoo shoots for a double leg takedown but Scalante sprawls well. He's pushed Hoodoo's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

No luck with that takedown attempt from Hoodoo.

Hoodoo closes the distance and clinches up with Scalante, looking for a takedown. Hoodoo pushes Scalante against the cage but Scalante circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sylvester Hoodoo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Hoodoo throws a right and a left that Scalante avoids nicely.
Scalante swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Hoodoo.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoodoo is really struggling to control Scalante but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Hoodoo takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Scalante is trying to maintain the position but Hoodoo is very close to passing his half guard.
Hoodoo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Scalante does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scalante can do anything to dispel that myth.

Scalante is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Hoodoo is trying to control. Scalante wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Rocky Scalante was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Hoodoo changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Scalante tries to avoid it but Hoodoo manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Scalante to the ground. Scalante escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hoodoo looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Hoodoo fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Scalante avoids it really well and circles away.
Hoodoo shoots in looking for a takedown. Scalante tries to sprawl out of it but Hoodoo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Scalante manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Scalante works over Hoodoo's head and body with a nice combination.
Hoodoo shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Scalante as he jumps to the side.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Scalante uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Scalante leaves Hoodoo with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Scalante is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.

Rocky Scalante showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Rocky Scalante comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
