Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jay Dee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roberto Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roberto Gracie has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Jay Dee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Roberto Gracie!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Andrew Berry and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Dee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Gracie throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dee sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Dee shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Dee showed some decent athleticism there.
Gracie avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Dee.

Gracie wants to improve his position but Dee is controlling well.

and Dee counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Gracie thinking.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Gracie enables Dee to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Gracie manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Roberto Gracie wasn't active enough on the ground.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Dee napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Gracie is looking to take a break and control but Dee is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
A lull in the action here as Gracie stalls from top position.

Gracie tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gracie has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Gracie thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Dee is letting Gracie control him for a moment.

Roberto Gracie showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Gracie with a poor takedown

and Dee counters with a single leg into guard. Gracie didn't expect that.

Jay Dee overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Gracie drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gracie jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Gracie is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Roberto Gracie.

Gracie shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Gracie was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Roberto Gracie comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Gracie has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
