The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alhazred stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Alhazred wants it to stay on the feet.

Ryder dives in and grabs Alhazred's left leg, looking for a takedown. Alhazred pushes down on Ryder's head and hops out.

Alhazred feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Ryder's calf.
Ryder shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alhazred pinned against the cage. Alhazred gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Ryder shoots for a double leg takedown but Alhazred sprawls well. He's pushed Ryder's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Rhakesh Alhazred has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jacob Ryder.
Ryder is breathing heavily.
Alhazred lands a kick to the ribs of his opponent. Nice work there - in and out in a flash.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Rhakesh Alhazred.
