Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between George Tribbett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerker Gerk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerker Gerk has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Tribbett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gerker Gerk!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Trevor Gratis and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tribbett drives through with a takedown into guard.
Tribbett trying to control the position from guard on top but Gerk is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Tribbett not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Tribbett with a flurry of punches that miss.
Tribbett working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gerk wants to stand and escape but Tribbett is having none of it.
Tribbett stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Gerk swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Gerk keeping moving, preventing Tribbett from controlling successfully.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Gerk pushes Tribbett up against the cage in a clinch.
Tribbett is trying to break free.

Gerk breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Gerk slaps away a takedown attempt from Tribbett, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Gerk tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tribbett closes the distance and clinches up with Gerk, looking for a takedown. Tribbett pushes Gerk against the cage but Gerk circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Gerk fails with the takedown.

Gerk gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Knees to the body from Gerk.
Gerk is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Tribbett is breathing heavily.
Gerk stalling the fight.
Good body shot from Gerk.
Gerk is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.

Gerk has clasped his hands together around Tribbett's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Tribbett tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gerk wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Tribbett wants to control but Gerk postures up.
Tribbett is trying to get back to half guard.
Gerk wants to stand but Tribbett is controlling his arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Gerk throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Tribbett wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Tribbett seems a little lost for a moment, as Gerk dominates the positioning.
Gerk wants to stand but Tribbett has his arm trapped.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Gerk clinches with his opponent.
Gerk is struggling to control the position.
Gerk is pressed up against the cage. Tribbett has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gerk down to the mat. Gerk avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for George Tribbett. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Gerk drives through and clinches with Tribbett against the cage.

Gerk is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Tribbett can't fight it off and eventually Gerk manages to take the fight to the floor. Tribbett looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Tribbett looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Gerk wants to stand but Tribbett is controlling his posture from full guard.
Gerk working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Gerk wanted to stand there but Tribbett had control of the position.

Tribbett has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Gerk should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Tribbett has tightened it up now! Gerk should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). George Tribbett!
