PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Zygote Fedor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris Torres (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Torres has chosen I'm the Man as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Torres fails with the takedown.
Torres tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Fedor swivels and escapes.

Zygote Fedor has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Chris Torres.

Torres gets caught flat footed, as Fedor shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Fedor tries to free his leg and advance position but Torres is retaining full guard.
Fedor seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Fedor postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Torres pushes Fedor off but Fedor dives into side control.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Fedor works to advance to full mount. Torres defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Fedor's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Torres tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Fedor just stands there and leans against the cage.
Fedor wants to break free but Torres has control.

Fedor goes for a takedown attempt but Torres pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Fedor drops back, looking for a kneebar! Torres looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Torres looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Torres!

Fedor wants to control but Torres postures up.
Fedor sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Fedor is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Torres is thwarting Fedor's attempts to control the position.
Fedor is pressing down on Torres's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Torres with a lazy takedown attempt

and Fedor counters by moving into the clinch.
Torres is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Fedor gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Fedor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Torres is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Fedor is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Torres is trying to escape and Fedor transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Torres is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fedor! Very nice indeed!
