The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Johnson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Maout misses with a takedown attempt

and Johnson counters by clinching up.

Johnson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Johnson is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Johnson escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Maout gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Maout is looking to stand up but Johnson won't let him.

Maout thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Maout defends it easily.

Maout gets to his feet. Johnson looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Maout wants to clinch up but Johnson keeps it at a distance.

Johnson scores with a jab. Maout acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Johnson defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Maout.

Maout shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.
