Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Connor Young (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Derrick Grey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Connor Young!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Derrick Grey!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A bone on bone clash there as Grey blocks the leg kick.
A combination from Young does no damage.
Young is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Young gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Grey.

Grey feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Grey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Young. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Young tries to get to full guard but Grey has control of the leg.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Young pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Young throws a right hand that Grey ducks under and follows up with a left that Grey also avoids with ease.

Grey bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Young tries to bench press Grey off him but Grey keeps the position.
Young sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Grey is controlling the pace.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Grey is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.

Young is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Grey content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Derrick Grey wasn't active enough on the ground.
Young throws a right and a left that Grey avoids nicely.
Grey cracks Young with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Grey fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Young sprawls well initially but Grey persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Young has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Grey is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Young.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Young gets caught flat footed, as Grey shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Grey is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Young is on top in guard.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Grey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Young is looking to control Grey's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Young avoid being mounted?

Well Grey has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
