The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Blue scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Pfeifer scores with a crisp jab that stopped Blue in his tracks.
Pfeifer connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.

Blue is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Pfeifer is just riding it out for now. Blue eventually gives up the hold.

Blue goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Pfeifer has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Blue but great work by Pfeifer.

Pfeifer remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That was a close second round but I would say that Guillaume Blue will probably get the nod.

Pfeifer stalks Blue and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Blue's face. Blue staggers backwards, shaken.
Blue takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Blue postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Pfeifer is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Blue, into his guard.

Blue isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Pfeifer stacks Blue on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Pfeifer!
The referee asks Pfeifer politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Pfeifer prefers to stall for the moment though.
