PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Isamu Minowa (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and King Kobra (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Minowa's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, One Minute in Heaven. Isamu Minowa has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kobra looks to land a left hand but Minowa moved out of range nicely.
Minowa avoids the body shot from Kobra.

Minowa shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Kobra sprawls well. Kobra wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Minowa gets slowly back to his feet.

Minowa creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Kobra sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
Kobra parries the strikes from Minowa easily there. Minowa is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Kobra to escape.
Minowa throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Minowa closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Kobra can't do much from the bottom here.

You can see the frustration on Kobra's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Minowa tries to advance to mount but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Minowa is pushing down on Kobra's leg trying to pass to half guard. Kobra is fighting to maintain full guard but Minowa has managed to sneak the leg through.
Minowa wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kobra keeps working.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Minowa shoots in looking for a takedown. Kobra tries to sprawl out of it but Minowa keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kobra manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Kobra lands with a nice body punch.
King Kobra has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Minowa shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Kobra manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.

Kobra is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Minowa might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Minowa wants to pass the guard but Kobra is keeping the position.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Minowa, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
