The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yoshida closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Yoshida lands in his opponent's guard.
Yoshida looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Yoshida trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Yoshida throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as THE BEAST works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
THE BEAST can't keep his opponent in guard - Yoshida advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
THE BEAST tries to get to full guard but Yoshida has control of the leg.
THE BEAST avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Yoshida.
Yoshida moves into full mount! THE BEAST won't be happy about that!

Yoshida lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

THE BEAST is breathing heavily.
BOOM! Yoshida connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Jeez, JOHN THE BEAST's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
The referee calls the doctor in to look at JOHN THE BEAST's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!
