Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Tunde Kareem Oji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Julio Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sanchez is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Gladiator Main Theme. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Tunde Kareem Oji!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Julio Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and James Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oji dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oji fails with an attempt to clinch.
Oji with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Oji shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
A head kick misses from Oji.
Sanchez shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Oji counters with a straight right hand.
Oji misses with an attempted mid kick.
Sanchez moves out of range as Oji throws a body kick.
Tunde Kareem Oji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Oji tries a head kick but it misses.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Oji wants to break free but Sanchez has control.

Sanchez is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Oji fails to pull guard.

A frustrated look appears on Oji's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Oji's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

Sanchez is trying to drag Oji to the mat but Oji just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Tunde Kareem Oji has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Julio Sanchez.
Oji wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Sanchez has him pressed against the cage.

Sanchez has hold of one of Oji's legs. Oji is fighting the takedown attempt but Sanchez gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Sanchez drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sanchez jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Oji wants to sweep here but Sanchez controlling him for the moment.
Oji is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Oji pushes Sanchez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Oji misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

Oji is trying to stand back up but Sanchez is controlling him

Sanchez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sanchez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Oji is trying is best to control the position here.
Sanchez prevents Oji from standing back up.

Sanchez is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Oji trying to control but Sanchez postures up.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Oji is looking to improve his position.

Sanchez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Sanchez is working for a submission of some sort.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Julio Sanchez will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Oji with a poor takedown

and Sanchez counters with a nice double leg into side control. Oji won't be happy with that.

Oji is looking to regain half guard here but Sanchez keeps moving and retains side control.

Sanchez has an Americana. Oji didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Sanchez is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Sanchez hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
